Some views of the capital cities of three if the major human factions in Red Horizon

Confederation Center - United Confederation of Free Polities
This thumbnail focuses on the upper level of a corporate work and habitation structure, massive platforms supported by pylons and buildings below them, which are comprised of both company-owned office buildings, as well as lower-tier corporate housing for employees. These arcologies dominate the skyline of Confederation Center's world-spanning ecumenopolis. The upper level platforms (sometimes numbering in the hundreds, depending on the size and influence of the corporation) provide comfortable suburban-style tract housing to high-ranking employees. The largest of these structures belongs to Vanguard Corporation, who's compound spans several hundred square kilometers.

Scerin - Orion Arm Hegemony
The capital city of the Hegemony is incredibly dense, with almost all of the commerical buildings as well as most of the residential units being compacted into the endless city blocks that make up the majority of the city. Woven through the city are large, park-like expanses of grass, dotted with trees and lakes. Rising from these are the massive apartment spires of the Hegemony's middle class. Beyond the cities are heavily wooded suburbs, populated mostly by expensive town homes and mansions, belonging to the upper class of Scerin society.

Mariner City, Mars - United Mars Directorate
The capital city of the UMD, as well as other cities on Mars, are most like what we recognize in the present. While the Directorate does engage in urban planning, mostly for the sake of providing housing, recreation, and food to it's citizens, cities are allowed to develop on their own for the most part. The structure on the left is a raised section of Mars's EcoGird, a large network of greenbelts dividing the various sectors of cities on Mars into hexagonal districts. Some of these districts are allocated for Directorate public housing developments, while others are occupied by academies or vertical agricultural facilities.
